SeaDream I and II, originally Cunard’s Sea Goddesses, are just big enough to be ships, still small enough to be yachts. The company is still in the hands of co-founder Atle Brynestad, a Norwegian entrepreneur; former partner Larry Pimentel now runs Azamara, to which he took a number of key staff. SeaDream’s vessels offer utterly relaxed luxury attended by sophisticated crew. There are no balcony cabins but passengers wanting to enjoy the fresh air can drink, dine and even sleep al fresco. The ships have a water sport platform which lets down at the stern, and their small-but-perfectly-formed spas are among the best at sea. Fares are all-inclusive but do not cover flights.
