Voyages to Antiquity

Founded by serial entrepreneur Gerry (Orient Lines) Herrod and with its original itineraries created in consultation with historian (Lord) John Julius Norwich, Voyages to Antiquity and its one ship, Aegean Odyssey have, in a few short years, made a significant impact in the cruise world.

Pioneering unusual destinations has not always been an easy task – it’s unlikely that the ship will be returning to Syria or Libya any time soon, and its first-of-a-king safari cruises from Kenya have had to be modified because of recent troubles. Myanmar has been a more successful departure and the ship returns to Yangon (Rangoon) this winter.

A comprehensive selection of guest speakers enlighten the English-speaking passengers – drawn almost equally from the UK, Australia, and North America.
