Welcome aboard your July – August issue of World of Cruising!
In our house, July means school’s out (and my three are already rampaging around). But in the USA it’s all about another kind of Independence Day, and in this issue we’re re-discovering America. From a classic Mississippi riverboat (the original blues cruise) to a road trip through the Florida Keys, we’ve picked ten ways to have the time of your life in the Land of the Free. Then, in the interests of balance, we’re also taking you to Northern Russia. It’s definitely off the beaten track, but richly rewarding if you’re brave enough to go there.
Don’t know which to choose? My advice is do both! And while we’re on the subject of having it all, let’s take a look at Harmony of the Seas. The world’s largest cruise ship is currently making all the waves – but is bigger always better, or is small still beautiful? And how does she measure up to that other titan of the seas, Carnival Vista? We’ve tried them both for size.
Whatever the ship, there’s always room for romance. But would you dare to book a cruise for two, just four months after you met? Writer Maureen Paton did just that – so turn to page 90 to find out if the course of true love ran smooth…
