Expanded Cyber and Communication Services Debut Aboard Silver Shadow
Guests of Silversea Cruises will soon be surfing the Internet faster and more conveniently as the ultra-luxury line launches remote wireless Internet access (also known as Wi Fi) in designated locations aboard its ships and revamps its Internet centres with new state-of the-art computers featuring 17-inch flat screen monitors. The enhanced cyber technology debuted aboard Silver Shadow last month and will be expanded to the rest of the fleet by the end of the year.
The line has partnered with Maritime Telecommunications Network, a leading provider of satellite-based communications, to provide the designated Wi-Fi hot-spot areas as well as other enhanced communications capabilities. With the implementation of the new system, guests who bring their personal Wi-Fi-enabled laptops will be able to access the Internet and their e-mail in the Panorama Lounge (aboard Silver Cloud and Silver Wind) or Observation Lounge (aboard Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper), as well as the library, card room and conference room aboard all ships.
