These are the spring and autumn 2014 transatlantic crossing of the 227-passenger Royal Clipper, and a Balearics voyage on Star Flyer from Palma departing August 2.
Qualified yoga teacher Christel Vollmer will be on the two crossings, holding the morning sessions of Astanga or ‘power’ yoga on deck in the cool air, with a second session just before sunset, including meditation. She will also deliver lectures on the philosophy of yoga and advice for practice at home. The classes will be English and are suitable for all levels and ages.
Australian-born Raphaella Rose will offer daily classes on the Palma sailing. Her speciality is Ishta style yoga, a highly personalised form of yoga that embraces Hatha postures and Tantric and Ayurvedic philosophy. Tantra offers specific meditation techniques and tools to calm the mind, while Ayurveda aims to rebalance the individual mentally and physically.
Vegetarian cuisine will be available during breakfast buffets, piled with fresh, seasonal fruits, and salads at lunchtime, as well as vegetarian choices at dinner.
