Azamara Club Cruises has revealed details of its first world cruise planned for 2018.

Azamara Journey will sail on a 102-day voyage departing Sydney, Australia, on 7 March and arriving in London on 17 June. The ship will call at 61 ports in 29 countries. There will be 18 late night stays and 14 overnight calls, as well as eight AzAmazing Evenings events.

Some of The World Journey highlights include:

  • Ho Chi Minh City: Tour the city where French colonial architecture mixes with modern and Asian influences.
  • Bangkok: Thai food is a not-to-be-missed delight, with tantalising tastes of sweet, salt, bitter, and spicy.
  • Yangon: A visit to Shwedagon Pagoda will introduce travellers not only to one of Asia’s great religious sites, but to the daily life of the Burmese people.
  • Dubai: Visit Gold Souk, the largest gold market in Arabia.
  • Muscat: Explore the Sulan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the third largest in the world; it features a massive Swarovski crystal chandelier with over 600,000 crystals and a hand-woven prayer rug with more than 1.7 billion knots.
  • Lisbon: Visit the Castle of Sao Jorge. This Moorish citadel and castle was built upon fortifications from the 2nd century BC.
  • Amsterdam: Taste local delicacies including Poffertjes – buckwheat doughnuts with powdered sugar – and Bitterballen – deep-fried balls of beef with mustard – while strolling the canal-lined streets.

Two high-profile events will take place along the voyage. Film enthusiasts can people-watch during the Cannes Film Festival and motor-sport fans can witness the Monaco Grand Prix.

Round trip airfare will be included for all full-cruise guests with business class seats for suite guests and standard seats for all other staterooms. A one-night pre-cruise hotel stay is also included. Azamara Club Cruises’ President and CEO Larry Pimentel will host a special celebration in Sydney to welcome aboard those embarking on the voyage. The 102-day trip package also includes Internet access, $1,000 (approximately £670) per person shipboard credits, a free bag of laundry every seven days and excess luggage reimbursement up to $500 (approximately £335) per person.

Prices start from £19,078 per person for a Club Interior stateroom and from £45,558 per person for a Club World Owner’s suite.

Segments of the voyage can be booked by those unable to commit to 102 days. These sections can be booked as back-to-back voyages easily allowing guests to create their own adventures.

Azamara Journey is currently in dry-dock receiving a host of upgrades as part of the cruise line’s ‘Reimagine Azamara’ programme. Sister ship Azamara Quest is due to enter dry-dock in April 2016.
