Azamara Journey has emerged from dry-dock at Freeport, Bahamas, revealing new modern décor, new technologies and new services for guests.

All staterooms and suites have had an overhaul, creating an ambiance that is comfortable as well as timeless and elegant. Stone and porcelain has been used throughout.

Two new Spa Suites have been constructed adjacent to the Sanctum Spa. These come with exclusive access to unique spa amenities included in the price.

The Patio replaces the Pool Grill and has been transformed into a sit-down al fresco dining experience. In the evening tables are decorated with tablecloths and candles to create a fresh ambiance. New lighting, ceilings and fans add a modern touch. Live music will be performed during dinner.

A new Swirl & Top self-serve frozen yoghurt station has been installed serving a variety of flavours and choice of toppings.

The Casino received new slot machines, carpets, and reupholstered seating.

Windows Café has benefited from contemporary furniture and place settings. Tables for two were added, allowing more options for couples or the ability to combine tables to accommodate larger parties. Windows’ outdoor dining area and Sunset Bar offers views over the aft.

Discoveries Restaurant and Discoveries Bar have been refreshed with new décor, lamps, and furniture.

The Looking Glass Lounge has become the Living Room. Featuring cosy chairs and sofas this space will offer food and entertainment throughout the day. From 10am to 3.30pm guests can enjoy a selection of fine teas and coffees along with breakfast pastries, finger sandwiches, and sweets. From 4pm until 9pm guests can choose from a variety of tasty hot and cold tapas. In the evening the venue transforms into a space for dancing, karaoke or live music from one of the ship’s on-board musicians followed by a house DJ.

Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises, said: “There is no area on the ship that has not been touched. Known for our land programmes to provide our guests with the most personalised Destination Immersion experiences in the industry, Azamara needed to take our on-board product to the next level. Cruise ships are like fine hotels, after wear and tear, upgrades need to be made. We can’t wait to have our new and loyal guests on-board to see what we have done. It’s gorgeous and provides all the modern services and amenities that today’s traveller needs and demands. I think we have exceeded expectations.”

Azamara Quest will receive her upgrades when she enters dry dock in April 2016 in Singapore.
