An extremely hot day in June saw the arrival in Greenwich, London, of the Peter Deilmann-operated MS Deutschland on the London leg of a tour around the British Isles. Its passengers were predominately from the ship’s home country of Germany and the majority had gone ashore for day visits that included shopping in London, tea

An extremely hot day in June saw the arrival in Greenwich, London, of the Peter Deilmann-operated MS Deutschland on the London leg of a tour around the British Isles. Its passengers were predominately from the ship’s home country of Germany and the majority had gone ashore for day visits that included shopping in London, tea at The Ritz or a trip to Oxford.

Whilst the passengers were off the ship, World of Cruising was given an exclusive tour of the ship, its facilities and restaurants, hosted by UK Managing Director Stuart Perl.

Spread over nine decks, this classic vessel was built in Germany 1998. She is not a big ship, at 22,400 tons and carrying a maximum of 520 passengers. You could even say she is a minnow compared to most of today’s monster vessels.
