Boutique river cruise line Uniworld has launched its latest Europe and Russia 2016 brochure, adding an extra three new Istanbul itineraries.

At a time when ocean cruise lines are pulling out of Istanbul due to security fears Uniworld has introduced three itineraries each incorporating two nights in both Bucharest and Istanbul.

The 11-night Highlights of Eastern Europe and Istanbul itinerary is an adventure into the exotic eastern corners of the continent. Sailing from Budapest to Istanbul the ship will travel through Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. Two nights in Bucharest at the Radisson Blu Hotel (or similar) precedes a seven-night cruise aboard River Duchess or River Princess, which is followed by two nights in Istanbul at the InterContinental Istanbul (or similar). This reversible itinerary is offered from April to October and prices start from £3,269 per person cruise-only based on two sharing a cabin.

The 20-night Portraits of Eastern Europe itinerary provides guests with an in-depth exploration of Europe, combining two Danube cruises sailing from Prague to Istanbul. The ship will sail to Vienna and Budapest, as well as destinations throughout Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria. A total of six nights will be spent in three hotels – two nights in Prague at the Art Deco Imperial Hotel (or similar), two nights in Bucharest at the Radisson Blu Hotel (or similar) , and two nights in Istanbul at the InterContinental Istanbul (or similar). A total of 14 nights will be spent aboard River Princess in a river-view stateroom. This reversible itinerary is offered from April to October and prices start from £5,935 per person cruise-only based on two sharing a cabin.

The third new itinerary spans 25 nights and is boastfully entitled the Ultimate European Journey. This itinerary takes guests from Amsterdam through central Europe and culminates in Istanbul. A total of 21 nights will be spent in a river-view stateroom on the River Duchess, with two nights in Bucharest at the Radisson Blu Hotel (or similar), and two nights in Istanbul at the InterContinental Istanbul (or similar). This reversible itinerary is offered from May to September and prices start from £10,384 per person cruise-only based on two sharing a cabin.

The 2016 season will also see the River Queen ship upgraded and renovated with French balconies to be installed along the Rhine deck, an entirely new deck plan and new windows similar to those found on Uniworld’s Super Ships. This newly enhanced ship will then sail on the ‘Tulips and Windmills’, ‘European Jewels’ and ‘Legendary Rhine and Moselle’ itineraries.

Uniworld’s Early Booking Offer means customers can save up to £900 per couple on every Europe and Russia 2016 itinerary booked before 31 January 2016.
