The cruise

Your journey will begin in Southampton where you and your guest will step onboard the ship, get settled in your stylish balcony cabin, then head to one of the onboard bars for a sail-away drink.

Ahead of you lie 14 fabulous days to enjoy some of the Mediterranean’s most iconic destinations.

And you’ll find there’s so much to do aboard Sky Princess, including the chance to dine in a choice of three main restaurants, all offering à la carte fine dining, as well as four speciality eateries, and fast-food destinations including The Salty Dog Grill and Slice Pizzeria.

You’ll also get to see some great entertainment at the Princess Theatre and Vista Lounge, and you can join the studio audience at Princess Live!, the ship’s exclusive TV channel where shows are filmed on board.

The itinerary

Your first stop is the charming coastal city of La Rochelle in southwest France, where you can linger over lunch in the old harbour or explore Les Minimes marina. After that comes culture-rich Bilbao – don’t miss the famous Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum – and then Lisbon, Portugal’s bustling capital.

Take one of the famous yellow trams around this hilly city and you’ll enjoy glimpses of the harbour between brightly coloured houses. And don’t forget to enjoy a couple of delicious pastel de natas custard tarts – you’ll find them on every street corner.

Never been to Gibraltar? Then this is the perfect cruise for you. The island has been British territory since 1704, and its inhabitants hold on to their heritage with pride. The big difference here, of course, is that you can sit with a British pint in the Spanish sunshine.

Turning north, Sky Princess’s next port of call is stunning Seville in Spain – city of flamenco and tapas. The historic capital of Andalucia also boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Alcazar Palace and the impressive Santa Maria cathedral.

From Seville, you’ll sail on to the historic port city of Malaga. Pablo Picasso was born here, and the museum named in his honour has some of the great man’s finest works.

Elsewhere in the city’s historic quarter, you can mingle with the locals as you enjoy superb tapas at very reasonable prices.

Your last port of call will be Vigo, perfectly placed for an excursion to Santiago de Compostela. The final destination of the time-honoured Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, this is a city that’s proud of its history yet vibrant and modern too.

Here you can visit the great cathedral, then see what’s hot at the Galician Contemporary Art Centre – or you can simply take a stroll through the charming cobbled streets for some last-minute souvenirs.
