Wellness should be about balanced indulgence, not self-sacrifice - that's the philosophy behind Silversea's new programme called Otium, named after the Roman leisure time dedicated to bathing, talking, singing, drinking, eating and relaxing. The easygoing regime, being introduced on the new ship Silver Dawn in the spring of 2022, will include a 24-hour room-service menu of comfort food (including gourmet popcorn), as well as new spa treatments, new mattresses to give an even better nights sleep, relaxing baths prepared by suite butlers and hot chocolate served on your balcony while you admire the Arctic scenery. The line, now part of Royal Caribbean Group, launched two new ships - Silver Moon and Silver Origin - on successive days in 2021. A new Evolution-class being introduced from 2023, will be powered by hybrid technology that combines a fuel-cell system with batteries and dual-fuel engines with LNG as the main power source.
