A further overnight hotel stay. The Christopher Columbus Statue marks the entrance to the port and the start of Las Ramblas pedestrian area – lined with shops, bars and restaurants where street entertainers keep you entertained. Perhaps visit the famous Sagrada Familia Cathedral which was started in 1882 and is still not complete. Universal’s Port Aventura theme Park is situated close by, there is also the Picasso Museum, Gaudi Architecture and the Barcelona FC museum.

Cannes, France
Hang out with the rich and famous amid palm tree lined boulevards filled with supercars - in this the home of the Cannes Film Festival. Admire the mega yachts in the marina, have a flutter in a casino or shop in stylish boutiques.

Overnight on board in port. Approx' 30 minutes from the port lies the ancient city of Pisa with its famous leaning tower. Then it’s on to Florence – a renaissance treasure founded in the 16th century. Visit the main cathedral Il Duomo Di Firenze started in 1296 and completed in 1436, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio lines with gold and silver merchants.

Civitavecchia (for Rome), Italy
The port lies 70 miles away from the centre of Rome and so we would recommend booking an excursion through the cruise line to get the most out of your time here. The Coliseum, The Roman Form and the Trevi Fountain will give you an immediate introduction to the layers of history to be found in Rome and are all within walking distance of each other. The Pantheon is absolutely awe inspiring dating back to 27 BC and is the only complete structure from the Roma Empire still standing.

Most people head for the ancient Roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum or scoot across the bay to the island of Capri.

Cagliari, Sardinia
Cagliari is the largest city on Sardinia - housing over 150,000 people and has been the islands capital for centuries. Cagliari is a on south coast of the island and offers the perfect mix of recreation and exploration options. The five-mile-long Poetto Beach is among the best city beaches on the Mediterranean, while those in search of culture will love Cagliari’s old district where 13th-century towers still guard the medieval city walls.

Majorca, Spain
Perfect for a beach stop, a wander around Palma the capital, a visit to the mountains and the monastery of Valldemossa the one time home of Chopin.
Day 11
Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza is one of the Balearic islands in the Mediterranean Sea. It's well-known for the lively nightlife scene in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, where major European nightclubs have summer outposts. It’s also home to quiet villages, yoga retreats and beaches, from Platja d'en Bossa, lined with hotels, bars and shops, to quieter sandy coves backed by pine-clad hills found all around the coastline.
