Cruise Itinerary
Day 1
Fly UK to New York, USA
Depart UK for New York, overnight at hotel
Day 2
New York, USA
Explore this buzzing city in a continual sweep starting in Central Park and working south towards Wall Street and Battery Park where boat trips depart for The Statue of Liberty and the fascinating Immigration Museum on Ellis Island. Definitely take advantage of the shopping on 5th Avenue. Stop off for a coffee in the golden atrium of the Trump Tower and stroll through the Rockerfelller centre on your way to marvel at the bright lights of Times Square. Soak up the panoramic views from the viewing platform at the top of the Empire State Building as the sun sets over the horizon and the lights twinkle on.
Day 3
New York, USA to New Orleans, USA
Embark train for overnight journey to New Orleans, you will be in a private roomette and is based on full-board
Day 4 to 5
New Orleans, USA
You will find a flavour of the Old South with a distinct French accent, famed for its filigree wrought-iron work in the French Quarter and Mardi Gras celebrations which herald the beginning of Lent. Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shop at the beautiful river walk and take a ride on the street car line dating back to 1835. Visit Jackson Square in the heart of the French Quarter where the grey spire of St Louis Cathedral towers high in the air. Bourbon Street is where the music never stops and looks much as it did during the 1700's and 1800's with buildings crowding a narrow sidewalk.
Day 6
New Orleans, USA
Embark the Carnival Liberty for a 1700 departure
Day Days 7 to 8
At Sea
Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
Day 9
Montego Bay, Jamaica
There are some great attractions on Jamaica – the biggest one being Dunn's River Falls made famous by the James Bond film Dr No. Gentle bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae river made famous by Errol Flynn is exceedingly tranquil and worth doing. Another great trip is horse riding through the sugar cane plantations, on to the beach then swimming on your horse in the sea - absolutely marvellous. Perhaps visit the Blue Mountains and the coffee plantations for a unique souvenir or gift.
Day 10
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
This island remains part of the British Commonwealth and it is famed its scuba diving and white sandy beaches - in particular Seven-Mile Beach close to Georgetown the capital. It is also one of the few nesting grounds of the loggerhead turtle. One of the best things to do is snorkelling with the Sting Rays – you will not be disappointed. Try visiting Hell - a village in the far corner of the island where you will find a turtle farm. Ships generally anchor off shore here and the island is reached by tender.
Day 11
Cozumel, Mexico
This island is just 12-miles long and situated 20-minutes ferry ride from the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Cozumel is really a staging post for cruise passengers to visit mainland Mexico with its Mayan ruins at Tulum. Cozumel town is lively with its many bars and myriad of shops. Explore the Xel Ha aquatic park with its subterranean rivers, natural pools and sacred Mayan Lagoon. We found the scuba diving here to be the best in the Caribbean. The best beach is located in the Punta Sur Ecological Park.
Day 12
At Sea
Relax and make the most of the myriad of facilities available on board the ship, from fantastic entertainment to delicious and diverse dining options.
Day 13
Fly New Orleans, USA to UK
Disembark the ship and make your way to the airport for your overnight flight to UK
