Azamara Onward, Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was only half full, so service was exemplary. Never any problem getting a good table in the restaurant. As it was to celebrate out 50th wedding anniversary we took a Continental Balcony suite which was 50% larger than the other balcony cabins, and came with additional benefits, mainly complimentary speciality dining. This was well worth the added cost. My only surprise was that whilst the 'Steak'speciality restaurant was heavily booked, probably due to 50% of the passengers being Amarican, the itaian restaurant was hardly used, so we went 3 times and the food was deligtful.
Whilst the ship has been recently refurbished, and only just added to the Azamara fleet. and our cabin was perect inside, the surrounding to the patio door obviosly had not been replaced and the windows around the public area, whilst repainted were showing signs of their age.
The entertainers tried their best to get the mood on the ship lifted, but with only 50% occupancy the shows were not always full, and the late night disco was virtually empty, so overall the mood at times was somewhat flat.
Azamara missed a trick however as the following cruise was only 30% full and they could have offered us an incentive to stay on!
