A SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE
Back in the 90s, I was fortunate enough to spend a year travelling around the world. Armed with nothing but my rucksack, a battered copy of Lonely Planet and a Sony Walkman, I spent 365 of the most memorable days of my life.
I know that World of Cruising readers share that spirit of adventure, which is why we all love embarking on a voyage.
On my world trip I spent a lot of time in India and Southeast Asia, and since then I’ve been back many times. Every country in the region has something different to offer, from the jaw-dropping temples of Cambodia’s Angkor Wat to China’s sky-scraping vision of the future in Shanghai. If you’d like to experience – or revisit – the unique adventure of travelling in this part of the world, turn to page 68 for Jeannine Williamson’s eight-page in-depth guide to the very best Asian river cruises.
If ocean cruising is more your thing, you’ll love Josh Stephenson’s report on the cruise lines that offer exclusive access to some seriously swanky private islands (page 34).
So whether you’re planning your next trip or reading this on board, I hope you’ll find plenty in this month’s magazine to inspire you.
