As the nights draw in, one of my favourite things to do is plan my holiday for next year. The Med or the Caribbean? Ocean or river? The possibilities are as endless as the destinations. All the big cruise companies have published their 2020 itineraries (and in some cases 2021 and 2022 too), so if you’re smart, this is the month to book your next cruise too. Not only will you bag the best cabin, but many lines are offering early-bird discounts, onboard credit and a host of other incentives too. Isabella Sullivan has been busy rounding up the best cruises for 2020 – from the USA to the Baltics – so read her report on page 38.
Another tip for 2020 is to think about changing your usual cruise line. Many of us book the same old favourite every year, but with so many exciting new ships and destinations on offer, it would be a shame to miss out. See page 83 for some great advice on changing the holiday habit of a lifetime.
Back to the present, I’m just home after sailing around the Med on Crystal Serenity. From the first-class staff to the excellent food and entertainment on board, this really is luxury cruising at its very best. Find out more on page 28.
Finally, we have a great competition for all you Jane McDonald fans. Turn to page 36 for your chance to win a trip for two on Jane’s inaugural cruise, setting sail in September 2020. I recently had the pleasure of chatting to Jane, who revealed that there will be lots of surprises on board – so enter now and you could be hobnobbing with the Queen of Cruise herself.
Have a great month, and I hope you enjoy the issue.
