One of the stars of the classic 1990s TV show Ground Force and, more recently, Garden Rescue, Charlie Dimmock, joins us on a journey through France exploring the beautiful Saône and Rhône rivers. We’ll visit Lyon’s beautiful city park, Tournon’s Garden of Eden, Avignon’s Rocher de Doms and a lavender museum - Charlie will even join us on some of these garden-themed excursions to offer her expertise alongside our expert guides. And, while sailing, we'll enjoy expert onboard talks from this gardening legend, including fascinating insights from her impressive career. There are also guided tours to Lyon, historic Vienne, and Beaune, with a wine tasting. You will be staggered by the engineering genius of the amphitheatre at Arles and the huge aqueduct at the Pont du Gard. Avignon was the seat of the Papacy during medieval times, heralding a century of greatness crowned by the absorbing Papal Palace and its Renaissance art collection. Van Gogh created his greatest works in Provence, and all this is set in some of France’s stunning natural beauty.
