I think after having the luxury and class of Cunard,Celebrity could be described as a dress down booze cruise, this seemed to suit most people we met on board. But the entertainment onboard Cunard is far more diverse and extensive than Celebrity. For us the absence of a proper ball room and a chance to dance to quality 9 piece bands with guest swing singers, cannot be replaced by tiny floor space areas that that only play popular and modern music. The stage entertainment was at times bizarre and of a lower quality,the last stage show was a hastily put together gang show. An unwanted woke speech before a show had to be endured before the curtain rose,and later a strong feminist act who did more talking about the subject than getting on with the show . On this ship the buffet food was far better and more choice than the dining room. The design of the sky lounge was a big plus for us, which Cunard would do well to copy. It was hard to order a bar drink at busy times, a system of queueing instead of trying to get the bar staffs attention at a crowded bar would save a lot of time and eliminate annoying que jumpers Celebrity's embarkation and disembarkation was far quicker,easier, smoother, less fuss,and better organised than Cunard . Overall ,swings and roundabouts.
