Celebrity Edge, Eastern Mediterranean

Our initial reaction on joining the ship was 'Wow'. Cabins beautiful, although wardrobe space was tight and unusual in its design. No longer hanging for trousers or dresses.
Food, much of it very seasoned or spicy, which is difficult with intolerances. I was however well looked after.
Celebrity have taken the 'Ice or Martini' bar and made it the centre of entertainment, which was disappointing, it was lovely on the Solstice class. There was a nightclub, but very claustrophobic.
Eden, cud and should have been the entertainment hub. Beautifully decorated and positioned, but the entertainment was dire. Appreciate Celebrity are trying something different, but people would walk in and either leave straight away or after one drink. No atmosphere at all.
Drinks (wine) selection now very poor, not what you expect from this level of cruise line. Numerous complaints on board with premium packages being refunded. Suppliers blamed, but ......
We did 2 even day back to back cruises. The entertainment from the ships company was repeated. Even 'Liar', a type of 'call my bluff' was a repeat, almost word perfect. The ship were promised words that the panel ( Captain, Cruise Director and Concierge) had not heard b4. Except for the previous week etc, obviously every week for 6 months!!! So disappointing.
The itinerary was however excellent. As was the restaurant selection. No fixed dining and 4 restaurants to choose from each night, although if looking for a sharing table you'd be out of luck.
Not sure we want to go on Edge again, prefer the Solstice class.
