Borealis, Mediterranean

15 night cruise from Liverpool to the Canaries and Madeira. Embarkation was the only unsatisfactory part of the cruise, partly covid related. Took over 3 hours from parking to boarding with a long cold wait in an arena. Disembarkation was excellent.
Comfortable Superior Ocean View cabin. Excellent food with plenty of choices. Excellent nightly entertainment with plenty of variety in the shows, plus great choice of live music in several locations round the ship. Plenty of enrichment options on sea days to keep you occupied, e.g. Ukulele, Bridge, cookery demos, talks about destinations, quizzes...
Staff always friendly and helpful.
Excursions were good. Main concern is that the age profile of guests means that more active options do not always get the numbers that are required for the trip to run. We were therefore unable to enjoy the "levada walks" in Madeira or the "sunset on Mount Teide". If a trip is advertised, it ought to run as the trips are part of your reason for booking the holiday!
