Apart from only a very few cruises on Celebrity, all others since the first in 1996 have been with RCL. Given the excellent experiences gained in the past, it was not difficult to arrange to cruise with them once more.
However, I was not entirely happy on this occasion:-
1) At the first evening’s dinner, my party was served by a most amateurish waiting staff who brought to the table, first and second courses not satisfactorily hot enough and indeed not cooked to the level asked for. I ordered a steak to be cooked medium-to-well and it arrived so rare, it was almost raw. I appreciate that the lack of sufficient cooking was not due to waiters, who couldn’t even provide black pepper. Menus were never as extensive as on previous cruises and portions not as generous. I expected coffee to be provided in saucered cups automatically but it had to be asked for and was provided in mugs. All very disappointing!
Toilets were well maintained, but hand-drying was reduced to paper towels, not the cloth variety provided on previous cruises. Again, very disappointing!
In conclusion therefore, I am convinced that RCL are cutting back and are not providing the excellent services as in the past.
Unless improvements are made, this cruise may be my last dream holiday on RCL.
