Pretty Pins

This is the season when legs are on show – in all their glory. So, before baring them to the summer sun, it’s worth paying them a little care and attention. Easy now with Pretty Polly’s new Love Legs Prepare to Bare care which consists of 14 different products, all dedicated to helping you have great pins.

Cosset them after being cooped up throughout the winter in tights, stockings and trousers with moisture, moisture, moisture. Opt for a Rich Leg Mask to begin with (9) and then use Lock in Leg Oil (also9) to keep them looking and feeling smooth. This is best used after a bath or shower when legs are slightly damp.

When the temperature rises and you’re feeling hot and bothered, the Soothing Leg Gel will help keep your cool (just 6) while the sheer silk Leg Make-up will even out skin tones and blotches.

All products are available from Boots and Superdrug

FEED YOUR SKIN

The skin is the body’s largest organ and yet we tend only to deal with the bits that show. What we really need, and what the skin really needs is to be fed from within.

A new supplement promises not only to provide the skin with all the nutritional support it needs but to help fight against the ageing effects which are triggered by environmental and lifestyle factors.

Skin Vitality 1 combines the B vitamins needed for cell regeneration with anti-ageing antioxidants plus skin supporting minerals and nutrients which help heal damaged tissue and boosts collagen production – all in one capsule a day (16.95 for 60).

More Moisture

One of the most glamorous as well as effective organic skin products to come onto the market is ila Face Oil for Glowing Radiance – a totally chemical free product.

Just a few drops every morning under your moisturiser and in the evening on clean skin is all you need to boost your skin’s moisture content. Allow it a few seconds to settle before applying your usual moisturiser or night cream. You’ll like the scent, too, and can rest assured all its ingredients are as pure as is possible.

Available from Fenwicks and Planet Organic, as well as specialist day spas across the country. Further information from www.ila-spa.com

BLUE SKIES

Blue is the colour of summer and the smartest toes this season are wearing blue – glossy, blue polish like Givenchy’s Indigo Denim. Best of all for travelling, it comes in a small bottle, so you can take it with you on holiday for tops ups. Just 10.50 for the hippest toes in town.

TAN-fastic

A new self-tanning gel has been launched by South African’s skin care experts, Environ.

Easy to use, the gel format is less sloppy than creams and mousses, and this one contains a cocktail of plant extracts such as soybean, avocado and macadamia seed oils plus rosemary leaf and chamomile flower extracts, which all help to keep the skin soft and hydrated all day long.

It’s best to exfoliate the skin before applying the gel, and the change in colour should be noticeable after a couple of hours. You can then build up to the shade you want gradually.

Environ Self Tan Gel costs 23; for stockists, call 020 8450 2020
