The most incredible cruise.
Made memories to last a lifetime.
Absolutely magnificent.
Excellent cruise (they all are with Royal Caribbean!)
I was for thirty years a deep water sailor with the Royal Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer so I had a very clear view of life at sea, the Baltic and what this, my first commercial cruise, sailing from Southampton on the day of our fortieth wedding anniversary, could be like. I was astounded, not only were the magical bits, that fantastic sail into Stockholm, the weekend at St. Petersburg, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki just as wonderful the second time around but the food, ambiance, service, simply being treated as a welcome guest on a vast and deeply attractive vessel just made everything even better than we had hoped. I cannot, truly cannot fault almost everything except, alas, departure at Southampton at the end which was frankly a bit chaotic. However I am unsure just how much (I suspect very little) was down to Royal Caribbean and how much (almost all of it) was down to Southampton Port.
A fantastic experience from start to finish. The crew were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the drinks were well kept.
The ship, Explorer, was lovely with a great ambience. I find the Voyager class is about the right size for me, not too big and not on small. Getting seats in the theatre was no problem or pre booking. I had my time dining and usually arrived around 7ish and was seated quickly with very little waiting. Looking forward to being on this ship next year after it refurbish and hope it loses none of its charm.
Full of screaming unruly kids, drinks restricted by staff who seem to think just because they can't / won't drink then you shouldn't. Some staff just downright rude. The only good thing was the casino where you can escape the brats
Worst cruise we've been on, supposed to be transatlantic and caribbean, start of the cruise delayed by 3 days, then only got 1 caribbean port. No decent entertainment, food ok, cabin ok. Just seemed they wanted to get to Miami as quickly as possible.
