This was our 5th cruise with NCL (all on different ships) and whilst we had a good time, we were slightly disappointed with the Joy. The food was not as good as we have had on previous NCL cruises and the entertainment on offer was decidedly "underwhelming"
Our 12 nights cruise on Norwegian Joy started in New York, visiting Canada/America in the fall with 2 nights (3 days) post cruise stay in New York - sight seeing.
The “Haven” on Norwegian is defiantly worth it in our opinion, as you get loads of extras including the following:
1. Priority Boarding and Embarkation at all ports.
2. Your own Haven Restaurant, bar, pool, rest area and casual area (never gets crowded).
3. Concierge service all day.
4. A Butler for your state room.
5. Priority seating for shows etc,
and more.
The food in the Haven was as good if not better than in the speciality restaurants (any thing not on the menu but available elsewhere can be requested for the next day) the service top notch, and every body friendly but in a professional manor. It’s basically a small ship experience (your own club) within the larger ship. The staterooms are located more mid ship with little extras provided, you can of cause upgrade to a higher class of cabin if required, as you get discounts on this with offers sent to you pre cruise.
We are now Norwegian Happy Cruisers. Hope info helps.
Not cruises ncl for 4 years.
Ship very nice
Staff excellent
Cabin steward superb
Food basically disappointing.
Meat was mainly like leather.
The only one not ruined was a tournedos in Le Bistro. And that wasn’t a good as you’d expect.
Likewise fish overdone too. Even in ocean blue specialty restaurant.
Didn’t ruin the cruise but not as good as the other cruise lines we’ve used.
But it was a good price for all inclusive and we enjoyed it overall.
