The food is so delicious on board Ambassador Cruise Line’s ships, that you might want to just move in. With seven distinct restaurants to choose from, this really is the best value at sea

Take a look at your local high street. There are probably two or three restaurants that you’ve been going to for the last decade-or-so. You probably know the menu by heart. Maybe you’ve had the same dish the last 12 times you’ve visited?

Don’t you think it’s time for a change?

And we’re not talking giving the kebab shop on the corner a second chance after all these years. We’re talking about ditching your high street and upgrading it for an Ambassador Cruise Line cruise, with a high street beating range of delicious and varied restaurants on board to please all tastes.

Cruising from the UK to all manner of regional and far-flung destinations, Ambassador’s friendly and welcoming approach extends to the dishes they serve up in their spread of cuisine.

With a classic British taste in mind, the line’s two ships excel in delivering delectable feasts that give your local a run for its money.

Let’s tuck in.

Keep things casual in Borough Market

Named after the famous London market that is always bustling with tantalising smells of the best street food in town, Ambition and Ambience both feature a casual buffet eatery, which is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner.

Turn up when you feel peckish, with tasty food always ready for you – on your time. From Italian to Asian to salads, all tastes are catered for, and you can dress as casual as you like.

Treat yourself with Saffron

Both of Ambassador’s ships offer a specialty restaurant called Saffron, which serves authentic and scrumptious Indian cuisine in an intimate setting.

For the ideal ambience and the full flavour of the sub-continent, Saffron has proved to be a firm favourite among guests, so a reservation is highly recommended. A supplement is charged for dinners enjoyed at Saffron.

Complimentary fine dining

Many guests make a daily routine of taking dinner in their ship’s main dining room, with its daily-rotating menu to keep things fresh and exciting with every dinner.

At breakfast and lunch, help yourself to the plentiful buffet selection in the charming dining room setting. Meanwhile, at dinner, tuck into a five-course a la carte dinner in Buckingham or Holyrood restaurants.

With menu items reflecting British cultural icons, including Sunday roasts, it’s no wonder that guests are so keen to book a set dining time to secure their table for dinner.

Taste the Mediterranean

Named in memory of a much-loved Ambassador team member, Michelle Lupino, Lupino’s is a speciality dining option on board Ambition, which brings the Mediterranean to life through the dinner plate.

Indulge in a laid-back, al-fresco environment that just oozes Mediterranean charm and atmosphere. Load your table with family-style sharing platters and let the ports travel with you throughout your cruise.

Experience the pinnacle of dining

Now here’s where your Ambassador holiday really gives your local high street a run for its money. For an additional fee, join the exclusive Chef’s Table, where you will be treated to a nine-course pairing menu, served with five expertly matched wines.

Hosted by the ship’s executive chef in a VIP dining area, this is the perfect choice for a special night on board.

If you’re sailing on Ambience, then an additional paired menu awaits you at Sea & Grass. This theatrical restaurant serves up a ‘seven act’ feast, with four specially selected wines and a tempting cheeseboard before dessert.

And then chill out with a burger

Once all the fancy fine dining is done, and it’s time to slip out of that jacket and back into shorts and a t-shirt, there’s always the Alfresco Grill waiting to flip a sizzling burger for you.

Tuck into your favourite treat food, whether it’s pizza, hot dogs or chips, the Alfresco Grill is a place on board where you can comfortably kick back and just enjoy that wonderful feeling of knowing calories don’t count when you’re on holiday.
