Scarlet Lady will spend the winter 2027-2028 season in the Caribbean, sailing a host of exciting routes from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Virgin Voyages’ programme for its original Lady Ship is an exciting one; it starts on 31 October with Scarlet Lady leaving Europe and embarking on its first-ever Barcelona-to-San Juan transatlantic crossing. En route, the ship will stop in Lanzarote, Canary Islands – a brand-new port of call for Virgin Voyages.

Over the course of the season, Scarlet Lady will operate 23 Southern Caribbean sailings for a total of 13 distinct itineraries, offering a wealth of choice for picky cruisers looking for something unique.

The itineraries, 11 of which have not been covered by Virgin Voyages before, will stop at a wide range of islands. Highlights will include stops at less-visited gems such as Aruba and St Lucia.

San Juan – the ideal base

While many ships operate from Florida ports, Virgin Voyages set out on a different course with Scarlet Lady’s winter 2027-2028 deployment. Homeporting Scarlet Lady in San Juan means cruisers will be at the heart of the action and see more of the Caribbean.

Expect fewer days at sea and jam-packed itineraries that will stop at up to six ports on a week-long voyage. And the programme isn’t just about the number of destinations. Shorter distances between islands mean more time in ports, too. Some sailings will include an 8pm departure from Aruba to explore the island in more depth.

While there are only great choices when it comes to Scarlet Lady’s winter 2027-2028 itineraries, we’ve picked a few highlights:

  • 12-night Halloween Transatlantic

We’ve already alluded to this first-ever Barcelona-to-San Juan crossing for Scarlet Lady. What we didn’t mention until now is that it’ll be a special Halloween-themed sailing, so expect 12 nights of spooky fun. This voyage will also include a full day (8am to 8pm) in Tangier, Morocco.

  • 6-night Southern Caribbean sprint

Setting sail on a Sunday and returning on a Saturday, this six-night sailing will be the perfect choice if you’re short on annual leave. And with four ports of call and only one sea day, this cruise will let you maximise how much you see of the Caribbean.

  • 7-night Southern Caribbean & Aruban nights

A cracking week-long loop from San Juan, taking in Aruba (extended port stay until 8pm), St Lucia, Antigua and St Maarten. With two days at sea complementing the experience, this will be the sailing to choose if you like cruises that combine exciting ports with time on board to enjoy the ship’s facilities.

  • 8-night Southern Caribbean cruise

This slightly longer itinerary will pack a real punch. You’ll have a chance to see seven islands (Puerto Rico, Tortola, St Kitts, Barbados, St Lucia, Dominica and St Maarten) and only have one day at sea. This will be the must-book sailing if you want to maximise destination discovery.
