Sailed around japan and south Busan and wow what a surreal trip. Tokyo is bonkers, the temples make you want to become a buddist and South Korea is an absolute hidden gem!!!!
The ship & particularly some of the staff were terrific.
Food & accommodation were excellent.
Staff clearing an ondeck buffet inside during a storm was really impressive !
Despite some desperate attempts by passengers to make it more difficult !
A couple of rather dull ports but still a great experience.
More expensive than expected and more than previously.
Food quality is lower.
Drinks are priced at ridiculous levels as are the drinks packages.
Loyalty scheme is poor with includes a such as 1 scoop of ice cream!
The staff badger for tips.
This was our first time on Edge, which is so different to Solstice class ships. The Blu restaurant is much better, as are the spa facilities. Theatre Entertainment is out of this world, largely because of the new theatre technology.
There were two downsides (not huge). All the music was contemporary in style, whereas Celebrity has usually employed classical players too. It was very hard to find a quiet zone (no music or party noises).
Generally, though, it was a great experience.
Travelled to the Caribbean on Celebrity Edge
Ship was beautiful staff were really nice disappointed in the Buffett restaurant for dinner at night seemed to me they want you to use the service restaurants. Also ship doesn’t have a library not many shops either
Ship comes across very upmarket
On the plus side staff lay out towels on all the sun beds the night before and you don’t have to wander about looking for one they are plenty
Entertainment not to bad
acoustic music played in some of the bars
Ship was beautiful staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you
Cleanliness staff were always cleaning
There isn’t a library on the celeb edge which was a little disappointment
No tea facilities in cabin found out on the last day that you could ask for it
Dinner in ocean view cafe at night was poor if you wanted a meal you would have to book into the restaurants with some being a cost
It was good but have been on much better. Quite impersonal although always well manered. Did not like to see a male crew member kissing and being very demonstrative with his male companion in a public place when children were present.
Excellent ship and services. Great restaurants and entertainment. I can't wait for next time!
We had a great cruise on the Carnival Pride, the staff were amazing and provided us with exceptional service.
The range of dining options was varied and quality of the food was superb.
Shore excursions were a little pricey but the one we went on was good fun.
I was a first time cruiser and it so exceeded my expectations I loved everything about it from embarking and the steward we had was lovely. Food excellent range of restaurants brilliant from casual to top class dining and drink service around the decks was unexpected but a great extra so you didn’t have to keep getting up and going to the bars. Shore days were managed brilliantly and the extra touch when returning on board with iced face towels was so good. Excellent range of entertainment just a shame it had to end and disembarking went like dream your luggage was waiting for you at a certain spot so smooth. I just can’t wait to save up and do it all again sooner rather than later hopefully.
My friend and I had a lovely time during our Barcelona to Rome Cruise. The Celebrity ship is lovely and the staff were accommodating, warm, and kind. We ended up eating in the Ocean Cafe for all of our meals after a poor meal at the Cosmopolitan restaurant and had a fine time doing so. We didn't use paid excursions, but we had loads to do.
I am a fan of Celebrity Solstice cruise ships, but this new Edge category blew my mind. The ship is gorgeous. The food is phenomenal. The service is perfect, as usual. I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise.
Very best experience so far, ship spacious, clean and beautiful. Best entertainment we have ever had with celebrity.
Absolutely gorgeous ship with lots of dining options. Great service, fantastic food and accommodation.
My only negative is that the entertainment is slightly stuffy (slow jazz bands, slow singers, bloke slowly strumming a guitar and so on) and gets a little boring at times. It's OK if you're wanting to relax, but they could do with a lively option occasionally. Otherwise, excellent and would definitely book again.
