We arrived in Athens for a 7 night cruise, on arrival at the ship it look so impressive.
We have sailed with Princess on other occasions, but this ship was a monster, with 30 different places to drink or eat. It was very clean and the staff always hapoy and willing to assist.7 nights does not give you enough time to actually use all the facilities, with over 4000 guests, it never felt over crowded.
Thanks to all the crew for a fabulous cruise.
This was our very first cruise, and the Sun Princess was a wonderful ship to be on. Our room steward could not do more to help us with little requests and advice. The food in the eatery was great, and even in the main dining room we never struggled to get a table even without pre-booking.
Definitely recommend, the staff could not do enough for us
Great itinerary and service but the ship was too big and confusing.
This cruise went to Norway and Iceland. The ship is very well maintained and the service on board is generally very good.
There is a wide range of entertainment and enrichment on the ship, really something for everyone.Overall the dining experiences were good with a couple of exceptions - surprisingly in the premium restaurants. Sabatini's, the italian restaurant is very below par with food that was far too salty. The Catch which is a new concept has a lot of catching up to do!!
Cold food and really pushy waiters asking us what we wanted for dessert when we were ordering our starters. Not good.
This trip was unfortunately marred by bad weather and the main port of Reykjavic was cancelled which was most disappointing. Nothing to be done about the weather - but there were two ports in Norway which were closed for the day due to public holidays - no shops, bars or anything open - what was the point of going there (well maybe the ship just wanted you to buy their expensive excursions). The cruise line would have knowledge of when places are closed and they should schedule the port calls accordingly. Waste of time. However the scenery in Norway is wonderful, so you have to take what you can get. Overall it was enjoyable - but they cruise line ended up giving everyone a 20% credit for another cruise so that says it all really.
