From what we had read and been told, as first time Scenic guests we had very high expectations, so it was very pleasing to feel at the end of the cruise nearly all of these had been met and many surpassed. In particular the personal, friendly, knowledgeable, but very professional staff did not just provide a service, but really showed they cared for us and our individual requests , such that many of them soon became special friends. The quality and extensive choice of food and beverages was really something exceptional and ensured that throughout the cruise we really did experience all that Scenic had to offer. The tours were incredibly well planned and organised, and so enabled us to visit some very special new places along with some we had been to before . Needless to say the Scenic helicopter flight was a very special treat and will be a lasting memory ensuring that we will "NEVER LOSE OUR SENSE OF WONDER!”

Who should travel

Scenic specialises in six-star ultra-luxury meaning that passengers tend to have deep pockets. As such, the line tends to attract older couples and groups of friends although there is always the exception to the rule – and children aged 12 and over are welcome.

Owing to the fact that Scenic’s ships are modern and tasteful, the cruise line would also suit honeymooners or new-to-cruisers looking for a superlative sailing experience.

Both of Scenic's ocean ships sail to all four corners of the globe. Expect itineraries in remote, unspoiled regions such as Antarctica and the Arctic alongside more 'classic' cruise destinations like the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Americas and Asia.

The restaurants onboard Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse 11 are all overseen by executive chef, Tom Goetter, who seems to understand that food is no longer just something you enjoy on a cruise – it's now a reason to set sail.

From haute cuisine at the the French-inspired Lumière to classic steak and seafood at Elements and authentic teppanyaki at Night Market – a private dining experience for up to eight guests with an open grill that takes its inspiration from the night markets you’ll find all around Asia, India, and the Middle East – the sister ships offer a culinary adventure too.

Alternatively, your butler can offer you a comprehensive room- service menu, 24/7.

Scenic's ocean ships represent a truly all-inclusive experience. Flights and transfers are taken care of, and on-board all food and drink are complimentary (including a stocked mini-bar in your suite).

Complimentary Wi-fi is available at all times, as is the use of the ship’s facilities. Shore excursions are also part of your fare – and there’s no need to tip your tour guide either as Scenic takes care of this, too.
