I booked this cruise as I am a big Michael Ball fan and he was giving two concerts
during the seven day cruise. The supporting acts were excellent, especially Rock
Opera, exclusive to Princess. Michael’s performance was fantastic, bearing in mind he had just fought off Covid! I booked as solo cruiser and met up with a lovely group
Of other solo cruisers, so was able to dine with them before making our way to the
theatre.
Enchanted Princess being recently launched is still in an as new condition. However, its public spaces are poorly designed even comparing to similar design ships from the same group. For example getting around the ship one can only use the starboard side as there is no walkway through the ship on the main decks around promenade. There is very little that could be described as a prom deck. The public room venues are scheduled poorly resulting in huge overcrowding in various rooms such as the rooms used for quizzes, the rear nightclub room and even the theatre.
The departure experience from Southampton involved a very long hot queue out of the doors leading to security scanning. Yet on the other side of security were many unused seating areas.
The best part of the Princess cruise was the dining room service and food. Along with cabin services and condition of their new ship.
The worst part and the key reason I would not recommend is the 8-10 week wait to get emails answered by customer services, and the normal very long waits to have calls answered only to get through to someone in pre cruise sales helping out who cant assist with anything that needs dealing with post cruise. Even pre cruise there is no answer to emails and when there is a response they seem to think its ok to state there is an 8 week response time. In my company 48 hours is considered too long. If we used 8 weeks we would have no business. I would only sail with Princess if there was an amazingly low cost cruise with a great itinerary which is worth risking their horrific landside customer care.
A beautiful ship, staff attentive and friendly. Shows outstanding.
Wonderful experience can’t wait to go again.
Norway made the trip so good are next one will be up there
Absolutely brilliant with superb entertainment.
A fantastic cruise , great accomodation , the service was exceptional , lovely food and the ship was out of this world , the entertainment was superb , a tremendous experience
Excellent couldn't fault it in any way
A very relaxing cruise - just what we wanted. Covid restrictions optional.
Embarkation very quick in spite of us not being able to fully access quick check in before we left home
which was very complicated.
Beautiful ship, very attentive and polite staff, nothing too much trouble. Embarkation had numerous problems and staff lost control of the situation but didn’t spoil the holiday.
Accommodation first rate, food good, missed the lobster!
An excellent ship with incredible facilities all made better with the Medallion
Booked this cruise to Iceland and Norway instead of our intended trip to the same destinations on Sky Princess in June.Massive saving and princess plus included, downside was school holidays, although the ship was not too crowded. Royal class ship with slight differences to various bars and eateries, due to staff shortages dinner times were sometimes challenging although we seemed to fare quiet well, although we booked anytime dining we mostly ate in the fixed dining restaurant. As always all staff were really friendly and helpful and with a virtually brand new ship the decor was excellent. But disappointed that there were only two production shows during our two week cruise.
I have been on 8 cruise's and this one was the best and the next cruise will be up that way
Once you have been on a cruise it is the only way to holiday
There was a lot that we liked about our cruise but we did have some gripes that mean we have booked our next cruise with another line.
The food has degraded since we last sailed with them.
Who writes the menus for Princess in their main dining rooms? Weird combinations of strange food seem to be the choice on every menu. Not natural to a British pallet. And what about the sausages in both the self service (always raw) and the main dining rooms tasted of poorly cooked stewed cardboard. When challenged the team explained that they were steamed, we like them fried or grilled, I don’t think there were any Germans on the ship and they weren’t German sausages.
The main dining rooms (although booked as soon as available on the app before embarkation for the same table same time) had us sitting in a different seat every meal and it wasn’t worth asking on the app for the near a window option as they stuck us in the middle all the time. The last straw was when the computer deleted our booking three days before the end of the cruise and could not be reinstated. We took to the self service instead!
The 4 excursions we pre booked were disappointing at best. The organisation from the ship was okay but once on the trip the content, organisation and lack of toilet facilities did not represent good value. The best trip that I took was by buying a sightseeing bus ticket which included a funicular railway ride in Livorno which cost me about £10, the cafe in the square at the top of the railway was a pleasure to sit outside and marvellous views as well.
The embarkation did involve a long wait once booked-in although we were one of the first at the terminal. Princess like to load their VIP and disabled (wheelchair) passengers and kept us seated for about 45 minutes past our booked time.
A great cruise, pleasantly surprised by the hot weather and the lovely ship. Staff were very good and the drinks package was great, with good choice of drinks. Princess ships are really well looked after and we could not find anything to complain about.
