The testing prior to departure was straightforward, guided every step of the way
Waiting prior to embarkation was minimal, security cleared and time to stateroom was speedy
Having said that, obviously, everything has changed onboard to previous years
Buffet was minimal,choice limited.
Main dining rooms excellent, mask wearing until seated
Open areas involved mask wearing, but this son became second nature
Shops were limited in choice,
Shows were well attended, although quality was suspect,so much so that we didn’t bother attending after the first two evenings
Overall,disappointing
Comfortable but not upto the mark of a cruise to remember!
This was an 80’s music short cruise ,cabins were nice but a little dated. Had to keep asking for tea bags and milk as some days these were not refilled. Facilities were good , gym well equipped but very trusting that gym timetable was not on the cruise app . Music was good and well organised , it was a scramble for deck loungers and felt there was not enough even with just 1800 on board . Embarkation was painful , no information on where to go, the ships berth was moved from ocean terminal where we had booked parking to another terminal but no communication meant a security guard told us a cab number , then bag drop off but not informed to join another queue for covid tests etc . But overall enjoyable
We cruised on a 4 night UK cruise from Southampton to Belfast. The Regal Princess is a beautiful ship, the medallion worked really well, we travelled with friends and it was really useful to be able to ‘locate shipmates’. We also used it to order food to where we were sitting which was very good and quick service. We didn’t eat at the speciality restaurants but the main dining rooms and the buffet were great. We would definitely cruise with Princess again.
We had an excellent first time Princess cruise experience and would definitely cruise with Princess in the future. One particular thing stood out was the service and friendliness of the crew on board, Standard and choices of food was below what we expected for Princess but I’m sure that would be better on future cruises,
We handed over the keys to our car right outside the terminal of the Regal Princes, so it was easy to get to the ship. Boarding was easy considering the Covid testing etc, but our luggage was right outside our cabin door when we arrived. The Balcony cabin was spacious and the bathroom facilities were adequate. The Queen sized bed and pillows were so comfortable and we had good nights' sleep. The entertainment was brilliant and there were plenty of venues around the ship to eat and be entertained. The hygiene around the ship was exceptional to help keep the customers and staff safe. Loved the medallion pendant to find our way around and to keep track of our family on board. We will definitely be travelling on Regal or her sister ship, Sky Princess, again.
