excellent price, top class service, could not fault it, having travelled with p&o for 20yrs, value for money, would not have gone repeated cruises otherwise:::::::::::::::::;
Nice cruise, ship could do with an update but that apart the cruise went well.
Fantastic cruise and only criticism were that there was not enough information at the beginning of the cruise and spent a lot off time sorting out drinks package etc
Would still recommend
Having been on Ventura in past, we were disappointed in the lowering of standards. Food & service wasn't as good and in one instance, I was still waiting for my main when everyone else had finished. The lack of sufficient staff was obvious but perhaps due to the fact that P&O were ensuring their newer ships were fully operational plus the fact that Ventura was heading for dry dock in the coming months. Queuing was horrendous - for getting off at ports, to Freedom dining and was particularly poor on the final morning for breakfast. We were so appalled by the ques for the freedom dining (the app was tempermental) we have actually opted for set dining on our forthcoming Azura cruise!
Overall very good except for the poor organisation of Christmas day dining arrangements.
This was a 35 night cruise on Ventura, P&O. The deluxe, balcony cabin was great with lots of room and the steward was extremely helpful. The food was just about average and it showed the effect COVID is having on the quality of available chefs and the training of waiters. The excursions were mostly shambolic and this is being kind! There is no excuse for this! Goodness only knows what went wrong on disembarkation - it was chaotic with no one knowing what had happened as suitcases had been wrongly placed….an absolute mess that must be sorted. There were lots and lots of wheelchairs which should not be a problem if people using them had consideration for other passengers which did not. Overall we enjoyed the cruise and will be returning to cruise again with P&O and hoping post-covid problems have now been resolved.
Almost faultless. A couple of the stops were not so good. We were on deck 14 so a little noisy from the sun deck above. Cabins a little on the tired side of life but loved the holiday. Prices seem to have hiked a lot in the last year so not sure we can afford another.
A fabulous time visiting great locations and all from 5* accommodation with friendly efficient service. Great entertainment was the icing on the cake!
A great cruise as always people say the smaller ships are better and more friendly but not the case here we find more to do plenty of sun beds so no getting up early to reserve one ,that we don’t want to have to do and lovely food and cabin service love the ship
Went on the 35night USA and Caribbean from Southampton round trip lovely relaxing cruise visiting amazing countries the only downside was ports being cancelled whilst we were at sea think it was re covid why Ventura couldnt dock in particular ports so weve booked again for next year
Couldnt really fault Ventura apart from the food in the main dining room and buffet
Staff really friendly n helpful nothing too much trouble
Excellent value for money
Unfortunate weather conditions meant missed port
Overall an excellent cruise given still recovering from COVID implications re table service and pre-covid service. Something PO couldn’t do much about is the ‘quality’ of some of the passengers who were totally ignorant and their behaviour left an awful lot to be desired. Some people complained about the most stupidest of things such as cabins are now only serviced once a day and bedding changed once a week. This is entirely adequate. Just one small suggestion, it could do with a refit. For the money an excellent 35 night cruise.
Excellent 35 night cruise to the Caribbean. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip - can highly recommend.
Been in Ventura several times but we're very disappointed. We were with some first-time cruisers who were happy but the whole experience, in our opinion, had gone down several notches. Lack of staff, very tired ship, mediocre food except in Epicurean and Sindhu, and poor attitude of some waiting staff due probably to the fact they were understaffed.
Entertainment, food and service was fabulous. Vegan offerings were great. But Ventura is in desperate need of a refurb. Toilets on our deck stopped working on our second sea day. Carpets throughout looked tired and grubby. Some big leaks around the Laguna bar. Cabins could also do with new tvs and mini fridge.
Prior to this 35night cruise which should have included a selection of American ports, Mexico and the Caribbean we had sang the praises of P & O. This cruise was a real disappointment. 10 days prior to leaving we were informed we would not be able to visit some of the USA ports. On the ship we were informed we couldn't go to any of the US ports, then we weren't going to Belize. We paid a large amount of money for a long Caribbean cruise. THE USA, MEXICO, and Belize were where we wanted to go.
Service was poor in the buffet and the restaurants. Entertainment which had always been excellent was bad, repeats from trips we had attended years before, . In the 35nights we saw the Headliners twice. Excursions were a extortionate cost, badly organised. We were taken on a trip in Freeport with most of the shops closed.
Unless they do something amazing they have lost our custom.
