Scenic started out in 1986 as a coach touring specialist. In 2008, the Australian company launched their river cruise programme.

Just over a decade later, Scenic entered the world of ocean cruising. Scenic Eclipse made her debut in 2019 while sister ship, Scenic Eclipse II, set sail on her inaugural journey in April 2023.

Set on the estuary where the Seine meets the Channel, Honfleur’s appeal lies in its narrow cobbled streets, slate-fronted houses and historic harbour.The Vieux Bassin, or Old Dock, is the heart of Honfleur, with its tall, narrow buildings and the cafés and galleries that line the quay. Nearby, the Church of Sainte-Catherine, built in the 15th century, is one of France’s few remaining wooden churches.Honfleur’s artistic heritage is another draw. From what we had read and been told, as first time Scenic guests we had very high expectations, so it was very pleasing to feel at the end of the cruise nearly all of these had been met and many surpassed. In particular the personal, friendly, knowledgeable, but very professional staff did not just provide a service, but really showed they cared for us and our individual requests , such that many of them soon became special friends. The quality and extensive choice of food and beverages was really something exceptional and ensured that throughout the cruise we really did experience all that Scenic had to offer. The tours were incredibly well planned and organised, and so enabled us to visit some very special new places along with some we had been to before . Needless to say the Scenic helicopter flight was a very special treat and will be a lasting memory ensuring that we will "NEVER LOSE OUR SENSE OF WONDER!”
