Distinguished by their decorated hulls, which get more elaborate with every new design, Norwegian’s ships are among the liveliest at sea. They also contain more ways to prise money out of passengers’ pockets and generate more on-board revenue than any other. The newest ships, Breakaway and Getaway, have taken the best bits of the hulking great Norwegian Epic, while leaving the mistakes behind – but Epic is the ship that has been deployed to the Mediterranean year-round from this coming April.
Norwegian pioneered freestyle dining – doing away with fixed seating in its main restaurants and eventually switching to smaller venues – almost every other major line has followed suit. Lively entertainment, exciting water slides, and colossal casinos are all Norwegian trademarks – as is the exclusive tranquillity of its Haven suites. Newer vessels also have plentiful accommodation for the young, free and single. Operating to all the main cruise destinations, including year-round in the Caribbean and the Med, plus Alaska, Mexico, Bermuda, Canada, New England, northern Europe and South America.
