With Oceania Sonata, which is set to debut in August 2027, the headline story is space. Even by Oceania Cruises’ own standards – a fleet already known for generous cabins and open public areas – Oceania Sonata marks a step change.

That shift is most evident in the accommodation mix. Around 33 per cent of all staterooms on Oceania Sonata are suites, a marked increase compared to earlier generations of the fleet. Rather than concentrating space into a handful of top categories, the design spreads it across multiple suite types, many of them newly conceived for this class.

We guide you through every suite option available on Oceania Cruises’ upcoming ship.

The view from the inside:

“We have listened closely to the desires of our guests and are delighted to unveil Oceania Sonata’s thoughtfully reimagined suite accommodations,” said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises. “Oceania Sonata is a triumph of spacious design and meticulous craftsmanship.”

The four Owner’s Suites sit at the very top of the Oceania Sonata accommodation hierarchy, occupying the aft corners of Decks 10 and 11. Each extends beyond 2,500 square feet and introduces a first for Oceania: a two-bedroom layout.

Alongside a generous master bedroom with a king-size bed and spa-style marble bathroom, there is a separate guest bedroom with its own bathroom and direct access to the wraparound veranda. Floor-to-ceiling glass and sweeping 180-degree views anchor the design, with the emphasis on comfort rather than theatrical luxury.

Positioned aft and arranged in terraces, the eight Vista Suites range from more than 1,500 to over 1,900 square feet. These are designed to make the most of their setting, with wide verandas that stretch across the stern and uninterrupted ocean views.

Inside, the layout combines open-plan living with quieter private spaces. Bathrooms are a particular focus, featuring double vanities, rainfall showers and deep soaking bathtubs, reinforcing the sense that these suites are intended as true retreats.

The 16 Oceania Suites occupy the ground between the headline-grabbing Owner’s and Vista categories and the more familiar Penthouse level. Measuring between 1,000 and 1,400 square feet, they are notable for their sense of flow.

Living, dining and sleeping areas are clearly defined but visually connected, leading out to a private teak veranda. A king-size bed and marble-clad bathroom complete the picture, with finishes that echo the understated, sophisticated palette seen throughout Oceania Sonata’s suite collection.

Horizon Suites

Entirely new to the Oceania portfolio, the 50 Horizon Suites have been created to bridge the gap between Penthouse and Oceania Suites. At just over 600 square feet, they focus on intelligent use of space.

A walk-through wardrobe separates the bedroom from the living area, while the oversized veranda is designed as an extension of the suite itself, furnished for lounging rather than simply viewing. It is a category clearly aimed at guests looking to step up into suite living without moving into the ship’s largest accommodations.

Penthouse and Penthouse Deluxe Suites

Completing the suite line-up are 63 Penthouse Suites and 82 new Penthouse Deluxe Suites, measuring 426 and 488 square feet, respectively. These are the most numerous suite categories on board and form the backbone of Oceania Cruises’ premium accommodation offering.

Large living areas, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and private verandas define both categories, with the Deluxe version offering additional space and storage. While familiar in concept, the Oceania Sonata versions reflect the ship’s broader design update.

About the Sonata Class

The upcoming Sonata Class represents Oceania Cruises’ next generation of ships, with four vessels scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2035. Across all suite categories on Oceania Sonata, guests can expect butler service, next-generation Tranquility Beds and Aquamar bath amenities.
