This cruise was a 22 day journey from Seattle to Sydney. Lots of sea days, but what an amazing way to travel between the two continents!
Boarding the ship was a nightmare. We were travelling to remote locations so insurance was a must as was a visa waiver for Australia. The port building WiFi was horrendous so I couldn't prove I had insurance - it's part of my packaged bank account, and my banking app wasn't working. But I managed to show my daughters insurance and our visa waivers. The head of customer services allowed us to board and I took my phone to guest services later to show my insurance details. All was good because I had insurance.
The cruise director, fun squad and Carnivals own entertainers were super. The enrichment programme was amazing too. How often can anyone say they learnt about Hawai'i from Princesses?
The sauna was good but locker space was ridiculous far too few lockers and selfish guests were commandeering a locker for the whole 22day cruise because they could!
The itinerary was good - some fabulous stops on our way to Sydney. The crew were fabulous and could not do enough.
Even with the number of sea days, I can honestly say it was one of the best cruises I've taken.
Sadly due to Carnival changing it's reward programme, I doubt I'll sail with them again esp as the itinerary is so USA-based. It's a shame, I'm not far off Diamond but too far off achieve it in the time-frame.
Brill that’s all to say

it was just amazing and so much fun the first one for mea
The RC loyalists won't like me, but this was an average cruise. The main dining got repetitious. and while usually fine we ended up on the Windjammer and Solarium Bistro often. Service was good - they obviously try to please. What really sucked was the lack of information on the ports we visited. We were very pleased with RC's Arctic from Amsterdam to NYC because a college professor gave talks on the ports, culture, and history of Iceland, Greenland, and Canada. This cruise had one 1/2 presentation that briefly described the excursions offered. The worst example was at the Meet The Officers when a fellow in a wheelchair explained that RC had no way to shuttle him into Akita from the terminal. On his here found out that the port has a cruise ship terminal train that is handicapped accessible and cost $2.00 ( the RC shuttle that he couldn't take was $20). The officer said he was as sorry but it was the first time in Akita. What a terrible excuse! Maybe you could talk to the port authorities for five minutes? Or maybe RC just wanted the shuttle money? Anyway, very poor performance.
I got off in Tokyo, where we continue to use the Suica app on our phones to pay for most everything - we watched cruisers taking forever to get train or bus paid, while we breezed through. We luckily did our own research and l will make it a point to put information on Hong Kong's Octopus Card on the Quantum Facebook page - it's super easy to use for transportation, stores and restaurants. And guaranteed RC won't mention it.
Azamara was the most horrible experience we ever had our bathroom didn't work 6 days out of 12 day cruise Customer service from guest relation manager and from Hotel manager to maintenance Manager just useless with bunch of lies the working crew was good but when you need to go to bathroom we had to go to public bathroom on deck above that is unexpectable. We were promised that when we get home to USA the customer service will be able to provide some kind compensation and that was promise from Guest relation Manager that was lie plus their customer service is the worst we ever experience they will lied to you till you will give up. Highly don't recommend Azamara as cruise line their is the reason the company was sold by Royal Caribbean because the ships are our dated need to to be in scrapyard because it's been in service 20+ years and numerous owners. The main company Sycamore Group with business rating big F and that the way they are running Azamara cruises with big F
Excellent value for money. its my second Marella cruise and again it was brilliant. Very smooth transfers , crew very helpful and friendly. It feels like a family on board and on trips every one talks to you. Iv met some very interesting people. I think you could easily go on one on your own. They facilitate events for people to meet each other. The food is always good even in the buffet style restaurant they have a gorgeous healthy selection of food at each time of day. The afternoon teas are just like any cafe that does them. The entertainment is better than the west end shows with it being intimate you feel like they are performing just for you. Its lovely meeting the dancers after and around the ship. You can learn to dance from them. They have other activities. There are plenty of sun beds available around the ship in quiet areas, or around the pool. I think the spa treatments are expensive but you can get offers and free trials. The rooms are very comfortable. I always get a balcony room but had a good look around this time and if I wanted to cut down on my money to fit more cruising in i would get a room with a window but the inside cabins are just the same but without the window. So they cater for all budgets and what everyone prefers. You get the same 5star plus plus value for everything. Iv booked another one. Im addicted to cruising now. The port of calls are a good choice to get the best out of your visit. The excursions are great and the reps are very friendly and informative. I could go on. I cannot fault anything about Tui they are helpful from the start even in the shop or on the phone if you have any questions.
A wonderful way to see Indonesia and Malaysia from Singapore. This was a special time, especially the tours on the many ports of call. Quite naturally one compares it with the best of my many previous cruises, and that`s when improvements spring to mind.
What was missing was the daytime activities and evening entertainments to stimulate the senses. Regular Holland America cruisers, of which there are many, insist that classical music and educational speakers were the norm before covid. If the latter had been in evidence, then a great cruise could have been an amazing one.
Our tours were expensive, and although some tour guides were exceptional, sadly some were very poor. Holland America does not ask for feedback, so presumably no opportunity to reward the best whilst eliminating the seriously bad.
Thank you Holland America, and in particular the majority of the service staff, who went out of their way to ensure our well being.
