Great special offer price which included premium drinks package, free WiFi and staff gratuities. Found majority of passengers had similar deals. Never able to take full advantage of drinks package as not 'big' drinkers, but was great not to have to think about expense.
Shame there weren't more ports of call, 2 days at sea out and return was a lot. We didn't really rate the entertainment in the theatre, but maybe was to the taste of others.
Unfortunately both returned with Covid, despite ALL staff on board wearing masks all the time, towards the end of the cruise we had heard the virus was on board.
Having cruised many times with Royal Caribbean and Carnival, along with a couple of other cruise lines, we decided to give Princess cruises a try. I genuinely have no complaints, the food, service, our cabin, the various bars were all top class, I'm sure we'll be back with Princess!
The cruise was only 60% full with a full crew and this meant that there was always somewhere to sit or dine etc. The ship was fairly new and everything was very clean and bright.
Crew were very friendly and helpful and stateroom was well appointed & kept spotlessly clean.
Only downside was that this is a Medallion class ship, which means that you use an app for check-in details, room entry, ordering of food/drink etc. Although the room entry always worked, the app did not necessarily work for other options eg drink ordering
We did not go on any shore excursions, as we prefer to explore independently
This was a very enjoyable cruise, more for the journey than the destinations which were northern Spain and the Canaries. A new ship, it was impeccable and the staff were charming. We had slight reservations as Princess have elected to go wholeheartedly down the Medallion route, digitising many of the processes onboard eg food and drink ordering, accessing daily activities. The concept is impressive, though there are occasions where having access to paper copy would be nice eg bar cocktail menu. On our cruise they really hadn't got the systems working as any of us would have hoped, including the service staff who were coping manfully with slow hand held terminals. However, they are addressing issues and I know some upgrades to the app have occurred already. Hopefully all problems will soon be sorted and it sure is nice to have your stateroom door unlocked for you as you approach.
Excellent But the medlion was a pain.
A good 11 night break to the Canary Islands
