Fantastic ship, plenty of choice of where to eat and drink. Spacious.
We thought that the Iona would be too big, but, we were surprised how much we enjoyed this ship.
There was nothing that we could find to let this cruise down, the staff were so efficient and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The Iona is such a beautiful ship, elegant, beautifully designed and the decor is relaxing and superb.
Complete shambles on embarkation - queued up outside the terminal for over an hour and held inside for an hour before going through security. Had the toughest fillet steak ever in Keel and Cow apart from that enjoyed the cruise.
We sailed on the 2nd of Apr, embarkation was very busy as many passengers turned up early, but once on board everything was brilliant.
We had a family suite on board, would highly recommend for families with toddlers, plenty of room and amazing views.
Food and entertainment was second to none highly recommend epicurean, and with the suite breakfast was served there as well, cruise itself was a let down as due to weather we where in port 6 days and had one sea day. However facility on board where amazing and my little ones didn't stop having fun.
Second cruise on Iona but things were definitely different this time,MDR food very basic,no beef Wellington or lobster offered on celebration night unless you were on chefs table with the rest of the two weeks very boring food unless you used the alternative food venues.Ship is wonderful and so are the staff, couldn't fault service.
We went on a canaries cruise which also included Cadiz, Lisbon and Madeira. Unfortunately inclement weather and rough seas prevented us from docking at Madeira.
We have sailed to the Canaries before, so we were used to the islands. We preferred Lanzarote as it seems more natural that the rest, even though they are all man made
The embarkation at Southampton was very well organised, as we all had to conduct a pre-embarkation COVID test. Although this made the process a little more protracted, it was very reassuring.
The ship itself, IONA, was excellent. I know it is new, but the staff look to be certain to keep it that way. Constant cleaning was another reassuring factor. The food service areas were well stocked and not too busy, as the capacity of the ship seemed to have been reduced. The entertainment was first rate, with the shows and individual artistes being well worth a visit.
I am a fan of the casino, and the staff were eager to ensure you had a safe and comfortable visit . Overall, it was an excellent holiday. We will definitely travel on Iona again
I really enjoyed cruising on a bigger ship than usual. The food was delicious and varied. The cabins were always kept up to standard and the entertainment was always excellent!
The weather was not perfect. Very windy as we approached Olden so we couldn't stop - a major disappointment because that was the main reason for going. And another shore excursion was also cancelled in Alesund due to an avalanche warning.
Despite all that, it was an enjoyable trip, nice ship, good food, some performances amazing, some not so. I love the wrap around promenade, longer than any I have come across in other ships. Even though there are lots of swimming pools, they are all too small. Did not try the infinity pools, nor the outdoor jacuzzis. No dance floor for ballroom! I am surprised and very disappointed - this being a predominantly British cruise I find this a major shortcoming. I have booked more cruises on Iona - just have to leave my dance shoes at home.
Perfect holiday
Great value for money
Beautiful ship
Excellent staff
Brilliant could not fault the trip
One of the nicest ship on the seas but let down badly by the low staff /passenger ratio. It didn't make any sense .
Iona was large but had no character. The Atrium is like been in an airport lounge . The food was awful, cold , uninspiring. Specialty restaurants were very good . Cabins were nice clean and crisp but storage was lacking . I think P & O cut backs have gone to far. We have done 42 cruises but won’t be going with P& O again
norway was beautiful just warm so didnt need hats scarves gloves etc
sceneri was stunning ship was stunning all the staff were amazing
