This was the most amazing experience. I travelled on my own as my husband did not wish to go on the cruise. The ship was beautiful, service fantastic, food superb. Everything about the cruise was just wonderful, and the scenery just amazing. Words really do not do justice to thus once in a lifetime experience. I would heartily recommend this holiday to everyone.
very good considering Covid restrictions still in place.
An enjoyable cruise the strengths were food and pleasant staff the main complaint was the change in internet charging with each 24 hour period being charged separately unless one were working on the ship rather than on holiday most person’s use of the internet was limited to less than an hour for which a charge of20 dollars was made this also had the affect of considerably reducing the principal benefit of loyalty bonus to regular cruisers with Cunard how can Cunard justify the change?
As usual Cunard have served e well.
Recently returned from cruising from Vancouver to Alaska with Cunard Queen Elizabeth. This was a fantastic experience from the ship itself to the dining, entertainment and brilliant shore excursions. It was everything I expected it to be and more. Just wonderful.
Wonderful to be back on board. Plenty of activities for those who want to take part. Dining was excellent - nothing too much trouble. A pity dress code standards have dropped a bit. My husband and I always dress up. Alaska is a must see - the scenery has to be seen to be believed. We had a great time and love cruising with Cunard.
IfCunard are trading in 5 years I will be surprised .Embarking was a covid risk ,testing pre embarking ,was in a shed with queues of hour plus .Covid was rife on the ship, lack of duty of care meant over 200 passengers were made to get off in USA .Room service trays for Covid passengers left in corridors overnight .
Staff attitude wasn’t what I would except from any cruise line.
Best ship we have been on but with worst entertainment in bars and lounges at night.
There was a duet who thought it a good idea to try rap music on a mature/ mostly elderly audience.( We walked out )
Although we have cruised many times before, this was the first time my husband and myself have travelled with Cunard. The first impression of the ship was its grand opulence. Our (upgraded) cabin was very comfortable and very well insulated from sound from both the adjacent cabins and outside. We had a good sized balcony with comfortable chairs to relax. The beds were absolutely wonderful and guaranteed us a good nights sleep. The shower with its plastic curtain was very cramped. Penhaligon toiletries are advertised, but the fact the are in big pump dispensers which every passenger using the cabin is expected to use, is omitted. Shampoo, gel wash and handcream, no hair conditioner or shower cap. The formal dinning room's food was good with freshly cooked choice every night. The staff we very abrupt verging on some occasions to rude. No one smiled or tried to make us feel as though we were welcome. The service was very efficient, maybe too efficient. There was no pause between courses and it was very apparent that we were expected to vacate out table as soon as we had finished our meal. The self service (Lido) restaurant was a very unpleasant place to eat. The staff were very abrupt to the point of rudeness. Is was not self service. They staff gave very small portions of food . I'm by no means a big eater, but even I found them to be too small.
The first night we arrived no member of staff approached to explain the restaurant protocol. As my husband is in the early stage of a dementia, he frequently needed me close by to assist him with his needs. It was made very clear by members of staff that this was a burden to them. If we went to the wrong entrance or exit (initially we found the layout of the Lido very confusing), we were redirected in a very aggresive manner. Overall I found the food quite unsatisfactory in the Lido. The staff everywhere else (except the library where they were delightful) were obviously overworked, in short supply and certainly gave the impression they didn't really want to be on the ship or serving the customers. Will we go again,,,,,,? not for a few years, then perhaps, when Covid has passed they may return to the standard they were once so famous for.
The lido restaurant was
Our first cruise, was brilliant.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Northern Lights cruise, excellent value.Fabulous ship, entertainment good.Problems due to Covid, staff did very best under difficult circumstances.
Highly recommended.
The overall cruise was fine but I feel the ship was let down with poor entertainment and venues with not much happening in them.
The service was not that great when you wanted a drink it was either immediate or a 5 to 10 min wait for a waiter
