Absolutely out of this world experience,my friends had an absolutely great 3 week trip with an amazing experience cruising sensational places loved all the international food on board, would recommend this great experience to anyone wishing to travel this way.
We left Southampton for a 5 week cruise to the Caribbean and back..
everything went well, the few problems were served and sorted well.
Having waited since our previous booking had been cancelled ..we decided to travel from New York to Southampton instead of into New York.
We had never been in such a fabulous cruise liner ..indeed any type of cruise liner or sea cruise ship before.
We loved 7 nights at sea sleeping with the door to our balcony open listening to the sound of the sea was the most wonderful soothing and relaxing way to go to bed every night.
We didn’t have a single complaint about anything on Cunard we had the best time .
Once on board the crew and ship wete all exceptional couldnt fault any of the service and food was fantastic
Queen Mary is a wonderful cruise liner and the Grills restaurant is the very best we have ever used on a cruise.
A great pity that we missed an island because of a delay in Tenerife, which seemed totally unnecessary!
As I use a wheelchair, I had to miss the calls where Mary could not use, as anchor ports are unavailable for me. That, I knew before I booked, but was hoping that accessible tours were available at all other ports. A great shame that non were available in Tortola, an island completely not suitable for getting around on our own when using my electric scooter! We are calling there again next year, but I will book a trip before I leave, not onboard.
Overall, a superb 5 week cruise. 4 week’s next February on Queen Victoria, which I am really looking forward to, and will certainly sort out Tortola before leaving!
QM2 is as ever a Royal Queen. She has an ambience all of her own. Unique in every way
Restful but with much to do. Food fit for a royal. Staff to attend your needs and pamper you. Visits to new cities with a warm welcome. Crewed by the best of the best.
.
Our Cruise was cancelled 2 days before the Ist part of the trip was supposed to commence.
Apparently due to technical reasons but it was up and running again before we would have departed.
Dissapointed have had to find for the rest of the money to be refunded apart from the Cruise
Great transatlantic cruise. We were upgraded (free of charge) from inside to outside cabin and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the cabin (much bigger and brighter than the obstructed balcony cabin we had last year) The food and service was great in the MDR, pub and buffet. We had chosen this cruise specifically to see the speakers from ‘The Greatest Generation Foundation’, having seen them onboard last November, they were again, all amazing. We also enjoyed the lectures given by Mike Reiss, a comedy writer/scriptwriter whose credits include The Simpsons, Ice Age movies, Despicable Me. He was a brilliant speaker, very talented and funny and comes across as a really nice man! The only negatives for me were the drinks prices and the choice of entertainment, it’s a little dull for me (with the exception of Peter Haworth, current lead singer of The Hollies, who was excellent)
Great all round.
Unfortunately half way through I and my wife contracted the Covid and we missed half of the cruise !!!
Loved it.
The transatlantic crossings on Cunard are excellent, such a great selection of guest speakers including my all time favourites ‘The Greatest Generations Foundation’ on this cruise. Food and service were great, entertainment could have done with a bit more variety. The drinks prices are very expensive on Cunard, not enough to put me off though, I’m back on another transatlantic in May. Time to dig out all the posh clothes again!
QM2 is a traditional ship offering classy service.
As a wheelchair user we had issues with certain aspects of the support, particularly when disembarking.
Overall great time. Wonderful food.
The Queen Mary is of course a transatlantic liner so doesn’t have the Uber luxurious finishes of the Queen Elizabeth or Queen Victoria but the service was great and there was plenty of room in the public areas especially the theatres
My husband and I both have food allergies and Cunard are fantastic by giving us at breakfast the menus for lunch and dinner so that we could choose a dish and the chefs would adapt the ingredients to meet our specific needs: amazing!
