First time with MSC. The ship is beautiful. I found the food in the buffet not up to the standard of NCL. Very busy and some areas not always open. The MDR food was better. I was disappointed with the one ply, scratchy toilet paper throughout the ship. Maybe a few less Swarovski crystals on the staircases could have paid for better quality paper. Although the entertainment staff were good, there were gaps. There wasn't much between late afternoon and 10.30pm unless you wanted a dance class. All bar staff were very good. Room stewards too. Quite a few people got off the cruise with Covid, including myself. I would go with MSC again but possibly on a smaller ship next time.
Exceptional service lovely ship, extremely good value.
This was our first family cruise. My 3 young children had an absolute blast. Their words "best holiday ever"
The ship was absolutely georgous which is 5 stars but the organisation is absolutely the pits, embarking was a nightmare there was no drop off from the car,we had to park the car and queue in the car park to drop off our luggage, it was boiling hot and being disabled and queuing for hours to get our luggage on was a nightmare, then when we dropped off the luggage there was another queue to get on the boat,we were told to wait in a waiting room with numbers that were given to us,one side was even numbers and one side for uneven, well the even numbers all went through and no uneven numbers were called we all waited having to stand for about 90 mins everyone was moaning, they eventually let us on saying the doors were stuck ,then getting on the tenders we're another joke,a queue to get a number, then another queue to go to the theatre then another queue to get on the tender, and there was only 2 tenders. so getting back on the ship was another nightmare waiting in the hot sun for 2 hours .I would never recommend MSc to anyone, nice and cheap but that's the only plus
As first time cruisers, we didn't know what to expect: would it be a posh ferry or Butlins on the Water??? Well we certainly impressed and received excellent value for money on this cruise. The ship was well maintained, although some of the seats were very worn in the Virtuosa bar. That said, it was a lively place to be and the entertainment was good.
While the food in the Blue Danube mainstream dining room left a bit to be desired (Caesar salad was an uncut chunk of lettuce and a teaspoon of Caesar sauce), the food market was excellent with a wide variety on offer throughout the day and evening. We opted for the premium drinks package and this was amply sufficient.
The crew were very friendly and efficient, always smiling and happy to help. We only took one shore excursion, preferring to be independent and this worked well for us. Information from the excursions desk left a lot to be desired - almost felt like it was on a need-to-know basis and, despite leaflets being placed in cabins detailing the offers available the next day, the lady on the excursions desk wasn't aware of them and we had to fetch the leaflet from our cabin to prove what the offer was.
The lifts (which I'm led to believe are sometimes very slow on cruises) were amazingly efficient. The crystal staircase was a sight to behold and the shopping mall with its overhead projection was innovative.
We are now planning to take a cruise next year, again with MSC, to the Norwegian Fjords. Can't wait!
An enjoyable week, embarkation was very easy and well organised. Had to change dinning room as no tables for 2 available. 8th floor cabin was excellent. Lots of hard sell by staff trying to get you to purchase other dining experiences and day trips were well over priced but that is standard. Evening shows were quite good and the booking system was very easy.
Excellent cruise , great itinerary, super food and everything was special. Slight problem with delay at boarding but I think this is because of covid. Would go again and recommend this line to friends anytime .
Lovely ship, only half full and you struggled to get a seat in a lot of the bars and buffet area's, crew were great, food in the buffet not that hot most of the time, you have an allotted time for your allocated restaurant every evening, the restaurants you had to pay for were far to expensive (€75 each for a steak) the announcements over the ship's speakers in half a dozen languages got a bit annoying at times, but overall a nice cruise.
We had a great time. Excellent service in all areas, plenty of activities. Great entertainment. Lovely and comfortable accommodation.
Travelled on this ship before last year. This time we relaxed more in our favourite bar in the sky bar, what we was disappointed about a bar we used before had to pay for drinks plus no music. We find our waiters good fun and they remembered our orders each night. Our room was spotless. We tried the outdoor pool and hot tub even in the chilli conditions was great. Well done looking forward to traveling on her in 2024.
Lovely new ship shows were good but all alike, needed something different. Would have liked more comedy to much emphasis on extras, dining venues. Really don’t like paying extra for lots of things. Drinks packages were high and paying extra for ice cream I thought was wrong. Unfortunately the weather made the promanard deck useless. Have had better food but it was OK
After going on this ship I would not hesitate to go every year as this was my first ever cruise and it was amazing for both me and all the other members of my family who all thought the same
A wonderful cruise, the ship was amazing and all staff so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment was 1st class. Would highly recommend and hoping to sail again later this year.
This was our first time on MSC Virtuosa, sailing to Northern Europe, where we visited some stunning cities, such as Tallinn and Copenhagen. The ship is absolutely stunning, with beautiful decor in all areas. The staff were all very professional, friendly and accommodating. We tried all the specialty restaurants, as well as the main dining room and buffet and they were all exceptional, although pur favourite would probably be Butchers Cut. All the facilities onboard are excellent, we had a balcony room on the tenth floor and it was spacious with excellent facilities.
We loved the ship so much that we have booked to cruise on it again later this year.
