There’s also a riverfront promenade and a small museum dedicated to local history and traditions.Many cruise lines use Caudebec as a launch point for excursions to the Abbey Route, taking in magnificent monastic sites like Jumièges and Saint-Wandrille, or further afield to Étretat’s cliffs or the D-Day beaches.

A great cruise aboard A-Rosa Sena on the Rhine. This was the first Christmas Markets cruise of the season and there were no Xmas markets in Holland at that time although we saw some in Cologne and Dusseldorf. The ship is pretty new and is immaculate. There is literally no feeling of movement when the ship's sailing unless you're directly above the engines where you can feel a feint vibration. Cabins are superb and spacious with great facilities and all cabins above the lowest passenger deck where the family cabins are situated (along with the children's room) are located. Food is great - either at the buffet which is fresh and varied or at the a-la-carte restaurant where seafood and steaks are served. I'd stick at the buffet as it's THAT good. Wines & beers onboard are excellent and plentiful with the wonderful onboard team happy (and proactive!) to keep you supplied. A-Rosa's Premium All Inclusive service means that you don't need to pay an extra penny onboard, although you will be tempted to tip the excellent staff. We didn't take any of the shore excursions due to the nature of the cruise and proximity of our berths to the city centres but the range is good and feedback from others onboard positive if felt a little expensive. Value for Money rating given as 5stars as you really couldn't ask for anything else within the holiday.
