Marella Voyager is a medium-sized ocean resort ship operated by Marella Cruises, which launched in 1997. It has capacity for 1,912 guests across 952 cabins.

This was our second ever cruise and second with Marella. I found we could relax a lot more as we knew the process. Booking earlier flights for arrival and departure was definitely worth it as we didn't want to be waiting around on the last day and you get a half day on the boat on arrival.
The food was not as good as Marella Discovery and The Kitchens format didn't work for us as much as a buffet because we have a little boy and it took a long time. It's nice to put a little bit of several things on his plate rather than have to queue up and ask.
The staff were great as usual but the itinerary wasn't as good as the Aegean one we did last year. The port stops were shorter and the excursions seemed rushed with shallow content. There were not as many sites of historical significance.
Firstly we had back pain issues but our brilliant cabin boys sorted that out with a topper.
The toilet regularly blocked and multiple attempts to get the suction to work were unsuccessful with the bowl alarmingly filling up to the top.
The major issue is a significant human faecal smell at three places at the back of the ship, flutes, vista, down stairs 5 at latitude and the squid and anchor bar on 7, The smell occurs intermittently but when in full flow! We left as soon as possible otherwise gagging would ensue. I pointed this out to the customer service who could not care less. Eventually I spoke to restaurant manager who said he would get back to me with a report , nothing was forthcoming. He said this was the first time he had heard about it, which is a blatant untrueth as Facebook is awash with reposts from several people on the boat. The staff in vista are brilliant but I feel sorry for them working in this environment.
The preparation handling and consumption of food is potentially hazardous and denial is disingenuous.
Mercifully, after a reconisce of vista restaurant ,the smell had abated on the last night ,so we could eat in the best restaurant.
Second cruise. Fantastic. Cannot fault the ship, staff or food. We absolutely loved it and we have looked at a lot of cruise and they all look good until you add the drinks package then the price goes up so far they put price Marella so until that changes we will stick with them. I should add that we are very happy with them and plan to do Asia in 2025 with them but we dont want to keep cruising the same places all the time so eventually we shall have to try another cruise line but at the moment we love Marella. We also spoke to someone who had done 16 cruises with various cruise lines and I asked which they preferred and they said Marella. The crew are the best I have to say. Genuinely happy to treat you well. No arrogance, no impoliteness, just happy. Assume they get treated well by their bosses.
There’s a suitably grown-up feel to this adults-only ship. We’ve cherry-picked some of the facilities from its sister ship Marella Explorer, like The Dining Club and Indigo Bar, Club and Casino. But there are some special one-offs, too, like themed bars and eateries.
As one of the largest ships in the fleet, Marella Explorer serves up top-notch eateries, a large spa, unmissable entertainment, and a swanky bar, club and casino space – all polished with a modern, contemporary finish.
Marella Discovery is the sister ship to Marella Discovery 2, so you can expect nearly all of the same facilities, such as a fantastic dining scene and a show lounge to rival the West End.
