Stayed in a balcony room on deck 10. From the outset there was noise from what sounded like tables and chairs being moved across the floor above. This continued through most of the day and night and stopped me from being able to sleep. I told Customer Services, but they didn’t do anything about it. The area above my room was a breakfast and also pizza sit in or takeaway area. Passengers had access to this area 24hrs a day. The food was also not up to standard on this ship. I would not recommend this ship .

This particular cruise was more like being on an extended ferry journey. With many ports taking on or disembarking passengers, there was a necessity for repetition and a general feeling of cruising failed to materialise. Many of the crew members, especially in dining areas, were simply disinterested (wrong orders, breakfast orders received altogether or incorrect and waiting times to order up to 20 min). I think a good description of some crew members could be described as 'sloppy'. Many were certainly not ion the 'friendly' category.

The ship was great and the cruise itself was most enjoyable. Good points: The staff were fabulous, always smiling and helpful. The ship was sparkling clean and not lacking in anything. Everything ran like clockwork; nothing was too much trouble and the service was seamless. Not so good points: Food was good but not hot, hence the 3 stars. Shore excursions were expensive and the equivalent at the port was much better value and more flexible. The cabin was small, but adequate. Embarkation was delayed by 6 hours due to bad weather and it took a fair few requests to be provided with shelter, drink and information. I would definitely recommend MSC, especially to first-time cruisers. If you want a value-for-money fun time with lots of lovely people of all nationalities, this is the one for you!
