Quantum of the Seas

We boarded the ship in Beijing, and even being a Diamond member I can't remember a better or quicker embarkation. No sooner had we arrived in the terminal, than we were shown into a private area complete with hot and cold drinks, pastries and other snacks, but we didn't have time to grab a cup of coffee before we were shown to the desk, and our passes issued. The Quantum is the first of the Quantum class ships, and boasts dodgems, an IFly , plus the usual toys RCCL has on their larger ships - Flow rider/climbing wall - but as a lazy cruiser I was happy to go to the Windjammer for lunch, then find the nearest bar for my first cocktail of the trip. The balcony cabin we chose was as always, stylist, comfortable, and had all the space we needed for our clothing. I've been lucky to sail with most cruise lines, but despite some ship variations, I've always found the food in RCCL very good. We usually visit the speciality restaurants while on board, and can recommend Chops Grill where the quality is always excellent. What attracted us to this particular cruise was the itinerary. Neither of us had been to Vietnam before, and I was blown away by the diverse culture of the place. Definitely one ticked off the bucket list. Back on board we discovered that while the dodgems were 'off' the space was used for either fencing lessons, or if you were so inclined, you could learn the traipse! I was happy to watch. Back home, I had no idea this would be my last cruise for a while, but at least I came away with wonderful memories.

As I a wheelchair user I needn't extra help with certain aspects, like embarkation and arrival and getting ashore. I found the staff helpful and accomodating in every respect. The beds were extremely ...
